Official says new bill helps Sibur consider Amur plant extension

MOSCOW, Jul 7 (PRIME) -- The bill on ethane and liquefied hydrocarbon gas (LHG) excise refund allows petrochemical company Sibur to consider extending capacity of the Amur gas chemical complex, an official of Sibur told PRIME on Tuesday.

"A preliminary estimate of the last version of a draft federal law of excise refund allows us to speak about possible economic efficiency of new petrochemical projects, including the Amur gas chemical complex in its extended layout," the official said.

The extended plan envisages capacity of up to 2.7 million tonnes of polymers per year and a price of about U.S. $10–11 billion.
